Final Reflection

For the past month in ED638, I have found this course to be very rewarding and challenging at the same time. With the loads of assignments and prioritization, this course definitely had me engaged.  I found myself being actively engaged throughout the day from beginning to end ensuring that I was on top of all my assignments. Through it all, I always remind myself to maintain that professionalism, be committed daily, and still have that enthusiasm at the end of the day as an educator.

In regards to professional disposition, I believe that I uphold the ability to collaborate with diverse members with a dedicated mindset in reaching my goals. This course is definitely teaching me to be professional despite the curve balls along the way. When the class began, I knew I was being tested. Juggling a busy lifestyle and trying to keep up with the class and complete assignments is something I work on each day. Although I feel overwhelmed trying to meet all the requirements and at the same time try to pull it all together, I must remember the journey is all worthwhile. With a dedicated mindset, I feel that I will be able to prioritize and complete my weekly goals with efficient preparation and participation.

Regular and active online attendance is very important in completing this course. I constantly found myself checking my phone or computer for updates whether it be through emails, Moodle, or Whatsapp. In order to successfully complete this course or any assignment, it is very important to have regular and active online attendance. I find it very important to have active online attendance because not only is your professor updating but my classmates were also responding to Moodle forums that required my active participation. Throughout this course, we definitely collaborate daily and learn from one another a great deal of information through the different forums. I have become more knowledgeable in learning about the different internet tools and effective literacy websites just to name a few.

I love how the assignments were broken down which gave me ample time to prepare myself for the week or what I needed to do next. Thank you Dr. Rivera for being quick in responding and getting any information that needed clarification out for the class.

Along with preparation involves participation as well. In order to get an assignment done, it is very important to participate in the forums as it serves as a way for everyone to collaborate and learn from one another. I felt that as a group we actively participated in helping one another complete assignments by putting in our share of resources and research in preparation for an assignment. In order to be fully committed, one must actively participate in order to make things fair for the whole group.

As educators, we all know that timely submission of data and work is very crucial in getting the job done. Just like this course, timely submission of assignments is very important. I believe that timely submission of all assignments gives the professor ample time to provide feedback. In order to get the grade you deserve and meet all requirements, you must meet the deadlines. In that way, it shows your professor your professionalism and dedication. Timely submission of assignments has been a challenge for me thus far. As an educator, juggling the deadlines of grades and assessments, I felt that I wasn’t going to meet my deadlines in time. With the willingness to talk and listen to my other group members, I can say that they helped me pull through with this course thus far.

This past month was definitely a challenge for me because the loads of assignments each day. Every day I felt like I couldn’t do it but, in the end, it felt very rewarding as I completed each assignment. Seeing that check marked on the assignment and the percentage of the course get higher, it made me feel like I was getting closer and closer to finishing.

Overall, I felt in order for me to make it this far one must have a positive mindset in everything that they do. There are going to be bumps along the way but if you set yourself on the right path, anything is possible. As intercession comes to a close, I can definitely say that I have learned so much about myself from prioritization, collaboration with classmates through online devices, and through it all maintaining that professionalism as an educator.
