            Quizizz.com is a website that turns quizzes into games! There are quizzes for every subject matter. Teachers can use this website to formatively assess students’ knowledge of any subject matter. Quizizz gives users access to thousands of ready-made quizzes and questions, so teachers can start a quiz from scratch or pull individual questions from other quiz sets.

            Quizizz can be student-paced so students can take their time and answer questions carefully without feeling rushed. Students are able to review the correct answers immediately. Quizizz can work with any browser or mobile device, so students can easily access the website. It is FREE to use, and it also provides teachers with reports regarding student performance so teachers can pinpoint areas of strength and weakness in their classes. As long as teachers provide students with a specifically generated game code, students can access the Quiz from anywhere within a specific timeframe.

            To promote critical thinking skills, I have students use Quizizz to prepare for exams. They create their study guide on Quizizz, including questions that they think might be on the exam. Students are encouraged to come up with challenging questions, when they create their own quiz on Quiziz. Students then switch game codes and “play” or study each other’s study guides.
