Rcampus (http://www.rcampus.com) is a comprehensive Educational Management System for educators and students. The tool that caught my attention in this site was the iRubric. You are able to build and use rubrics like never before. The most popular is the Reading Comprehension. The categories for the Reading and English Rubrics (all grade levels) are readily available which consist of Comprehension, Form, Grammar, Detail, and Format. For the higher grade levels, the students are able to track or view their grades in Reading Comprehension and see what they may need to work on. With iRubric we are able to spend more time in teaching quality lessons than time spent in grading. On another note, students can find tutors and private teachers within the local area. The tutors’ posts of tutoring profile for free and use online tutoring rooms.

Educators can utilize its free high quality tools to perform academic tasks easily and effectively. The components of RCampus include: Website Builder, Build Campus Community, ePortfolios, Course Management System, Class Finder, Tutor Connection, and Book Exchange.

In the Website Builder, it allows the educational community to utilize site templates, message boards, calendars, tag boards, member lists, and an on-line content builder in public and secured pages. The Build Campus Community component, faculty, committees, departments, groups and classes are able to integrate their websites. Using ePortfolios educators and students can effectively collect and organize their work. They can also create multiple portfolios to showcase accomplishments and professional growth.

I find the Book Exchange Component beneficial teachers and students so they can network with other schools or utilize the internal Message Center to sell and find books. Emails are safe and secure for communicating information about books.

The Course Management System in RCampus provides tools for educators to manage their coursework, classes, grades, and communication with students. Teachers can access their class website, message boards, document center, calendars, grade book, and receive email notifications. The Rubrics building and assessment tool which has a variety of templates to build simple to complex rubrics that meets expectations and criteria are available for teachers. The Class Finder is a search tool for students to find classes listed by the school in order to plan out their class schedule and register for classes.

What I find convenient and positive about the RCampus system is that it provides high quality and fully integrated tools for educators and students to access from any location.
