Newsletter Project: Effective Literacy Website #5
I did another research on which website to use for my
review number five. I came across one that catches my attention so I decided to
read on more.
I found Mr. Nussbaum (https://www.mrnussbaum.com/)
very interesting to me. In the site, it has resources not only for language
arts, but also for science, math, geography, and history. At the same time,
teachers can find resources for teachers and parents, and also there are
printable sheets that can be found. Another good thing on the page is that it
also has videos. All these resources are applicable for graders K-6.
When you click on the language arts, you will find
Literacy Games and Interactive resources. Under this section of the website, if
you click on the language art games, it will take you a lot of games that
students will really love to work on. Another reason I like these games is that
on all the games, they already put the ages that suitable for the game. Then
beneath the language arts games, you will find online reading comprehension.
For this one, the reading can be printed for the students to read or better
than that, you can just click on the listen icon and the text will be read. The
texts are highlighted while the reading is going. Then at the end of the
reading, there are questions that students will answer either after reading or
after listening to the reading of the text. In this section, there are a lot of
reading text available that you can select from. All the reading texts tell the
Type Name, Number of words, and the Reading level. As I go a little bit deeper
into the site, I also found one type of reading that I really like called cloze
reading. This will really helpful for the students since they will work with
vocabulary words and at the same time they will build their comprehension
skills.
Again, I found Mr. Nussbaum interesting so I decided to
use it for my literature review number 5. I like that it has resources not only
for the language arts, but also for different subject areas.
