Effective Literacy Website #4: Quill.org

Quill.org is an interactive website that provides students with online grammar practice. Students can practice combining multiple ideas into a single, grammatically correct sentence. They can also practice identifying and correcting fragments, punctuation placement, and much more. Quill.org is able to provide students with instant feedback so students can see and correct any errors they make as they go along. It is important to note that the website will count all errors, even an incorrectly capitalized word. It ensures students take their time while writing / typing, which is great because many students rush through their seatwork. Quill.org will reward students who actually take their time and carefully review their work before submitting.
Sentence practices are broken down into a variety of topics. Teachers can choose leveled texts from 1st grade through university levels. This is a great way for teachers to provide differentiated instruction for each and every student.
Quill.org is able to import student rosters directly from Google Classroom with a click of a button to make it easier for teachers to use. The website also offers a diagnostic test that can assess the needs of the students and display the relevant data to guide teacher instruction. Teachers are able to view class performance at a glance and see what skills their students are proficient in and what skills need to be retaught.
